Where is the food prepared?
Delivered Meals are prepared in a commercial kitchen and delivered to your home of office. In home meal preparation meals are prepared in your own kitchen. After our initial consultation, we will agree upon a cook date and will go shopping for all ingredients that day, bringing them to your home with our own utensils. We are also happy to pick up any additional items you may need from the grocery store. Once the meals are prepared, we will package them and store them in your refrigerator with a 'Freeze or Eat by' date. How long will you be there?
Cooking dates usually take anywhere from 4-6 hours. We will work within your schedule to find a time that is convenient for you.
How do I reheat the food?
Clear heating instructions are provided for all meals. Any items that are frozen should be defrosted overnight in your refrigerator for optimal flavor.
How are the foods packaged?
We will provide the appropriate food storage containers for an additional $10. If you would like to use your own reusable, microwavable containers, we will be happy to use them instead.
Can hiring a Personal Fitness Chef really be cost effective?
Absolutely! The cost per meal for most of our packages ranges from $17-$22. Think about how often you eat out, order delivery or even do your own cooking. The average family spends over $200 per week on groceries. You likely spend over an hour per week at the grocery store and an hour preparing each meal. Hiring a personal fitness chef will save you over 15 hours per week. Not to mention the waste of ingredients that have gone bad before you had a chance to use them.
If you were to go a restaurant or order take out, you have little or no control over how the food is cooked and undoubtly are paying a much higher price for something that is not as healthy as what a personal fitness chef can prepare. The cost of delivery charges, tip, parking and gas can add up very quickly.
Eat Fit's fee includes maintaining a basic cook kit, personalized recipes to meet your individual requirements, grocery shopping (sometimes at more than one store), travel times, food preparation and cooking, packaging and labeling of all of your meals. How can you put a price tag on good health?
